Food, Food, and My own Brad Pitt

Recently a Greek restaurant opened in Provo by the dollar theater and I LOVE GREEK FOOD!  It upheld my standards because it is sooooooooooo good!  The beef kabobs and pita bread are to die for!  We ate there twice this week.  If you are in the Provo area, we recommend that you check out Sadaf Greek Souvlaki Restaurant, you won't be disappointed.  It is reasonably priced too, or at least I think so.  It is about $7 a person (depending on what you get, this is an average) and you get your meal, salad, side of rice, potatoes, or beans, and pita bread.  It is a lot of food...you won't leave still hungry, I guarantee it!  It isn't as good as Best Chicken in Salt Lake but it sure comes close.

This past month Tyson and I have been CRAVING Kolaches like crazy!  We made the trip up to Salt Lake a few times to try the new Kolache store but both times we went they were closed!  We were sick of the drive and decided to make some Kolaches of our own.  The first recipe we tried wasn't the greatest but we tried again and succeeded!  I was so proud!  Don't they look yummy!?!?!

Tyson is still working hard at his internship. He has been working at least 10-11 hour days but some days have been as long as 15! He has to be to work everyday between 5am-7am (depending on the day).  At least he is bringing in the big $$$. It just stinks sometimes that he has to work the weekends, yes Saturday AND Sunday. He hasn't had a day off since Memorial Day and probably won't for awhile.  The benefit is he is getting a lot of overtime!  On the downside, the people in our ward probably think Tyson is going inactive or that we are splitting up because the past two weeks I have gone by myself to church.  Despite the long hours we are just grateful that he is getting the experience he needs and it makes the time we do spend together ever better (which I didn't think could be possible).

So...because of the long hours, Tyson has been growing out his facial hair to protect himself from the sun.  All day out in the sun has been drying out his skin and he has been getting really, really, REALLY dark.
He didn't like it and was concerned about getting sunspots so he wanted to have that extra protection along with sunscreen.  After a long discussion of how he should keep his facial hair (because #1 I HATE facial hair and #2 he was starting to look like a bum) he went with the Brad Pitt look.  Not the tacky ghetto facial hair that Brad has now but the cleanly groomed goatee.
It is almost like a cross between Brad Pitt and Paul Walker (my heartthrob).
I seriously think Tyson only convinced me to let him keep the facial hair because the two pics he showed me of how he was going to grow it out was of two good looking guys..especially Paul Walker.  I never pictured Tyson with facial hair, but I am actually surprised of how much better it looks and it isn't all that bad.  Of course I prefer clean shaven but if I have to live with facial hair I guess this will do.  I think Tyson likes his new look because he actually LET me take pictures of him!  If you know Tyson, he absolutely hates his picture taken but for this one he was excited about it.  Haha, gotta love Tyson.
Anyway...here are the pics of Tyson's new look and the meaning of My Own Brad Pitt

(it is kinda hard to tell in the pictures because his hair is so light).

  2. I love Greek food...yummy! So glad Tyson got an internship...it will look so good on his resume. Stinks that he has to work all day and even on the weekends. that is a huge bummer. But, it must be nice that he is making more $$$. I think the facial hair looks good on him. Terry looks Chinese/Mexican/weirdo/bum when he grows his out. You should send me that Kolache recipe...it looks delish!

  7. Oh they are so yummy! It is like either sausage and cheese, or ham and cheese, or just plain cheese, or whatever you like in a special bread. It is the best breakfast ever. They sound simple and they are but OMG they are amazing!
