The Beaman Zoo

Well my dream of living in a zoo has come true!  This week, we unintentionally added to our family.  As I took Sadie and Max outside to go to the bathroom one morning, Sadie started chasing something.  I didn't have my glasses on so I couldn't see what it was until it ran between my legs...Sadie had found herself a bunny!  It was so cute!  Poor little thing was scared to death and probably saw its life flash  before it.  I was able to pick the bunny up and comfort it a little bit.  Luckily my friend Amber is staying with us and she as well is an animal lover and affirmed my thoughts that I should keep it.  We then went to Petsmart and bought it some food.  I made it a nice little bed in a box and awaited Tyson to get home to affirm that we could have a new addition.  Tyson doesn't think we should keep it so I have posted ads for anyone to take it, but apparently bunnies are not popular pets.  I have never had a bunny before and never really thought about it but I guess this bunny was meant to be ours and found its way to our home.  If only we knew if it was male or female :/ !  It isn't a definite that we will have the bunny for long but until we have a good owner willing to take the bunny, it is ours!  The dogs really seem to like the bunny and the bunny has forgiven Sadie for the scare.  They get a long really well.  Max has taken it upon himself to be the bunny's protector.  He lays next to it and licks it.  It is actually very sweet.  I even caught Max in the box with it!  So now our house consists of 2 dogs, 1 turtle, and a bunny.  Now if only Tyson will adapt to cats...then I can bring Hunter (my cat from home) from my mom's to our house...

Call me crazy, but I just can't get enough of animals, they are so fun and I love their personalities.  This bunny is so cute, it follows me wherever I go and lays at my feet.  Even Franklin (the turtle) has a personality.  He LOVES music!  When ever we play music with bass he comes out of his shell and is very active.  He bumps his head up and down to the music.  Anyway, here are some pics of our growing family.  Maybe in a couple years we will START thinking about kids.  For now, we will stick with a zoo.  The only things missing that we want are a African Grey Parrot and a horse.  But those will have to wait until we have some more $$$!

The dogs love their new sibling

  1. Haha! So fun. I know what you mean by loving animals. They are awesome. Not gonna lie though babies are a whole new level of love. Didn't know you wanted a bird. I'm sure my mom would be happy to hand you over Lester!

  2. Actually it is Tyson who wants the bird haha (surprising I know!) Too bad Tyson doesn't like Lester haha, he says he is too mean. I'll take your word for it on babies...maybe I'll find out in a few years! I don't know how you can do a baby and 4 dogs! You are a trooper!

  3. Ah I love your bunny! What did you name him/her? There are plenty of unisex names to choose from...like Ricki/y haha just off the top of my head. Your turtle sounds like a real cool dude. I think I'd like to party with him.

  4. Haha we named the bunny the most AMAZING name ever...Bunny Bunny ahaha. That is the closest I could get to naming it because Tyson says if I give it a REAL name, I'll become too attached. Liz you want a bunny to go with your new baby?
