At the end of 2013 I was asked to a meeting at Murray High School. They were looking for a new cheerleading coach and I had applied as a Health Teacher a couple years prior and they liked me and kept my application. I had quit teaching at the end of the prior school year because I wanted to be home with T.J. When this opportunity presented itself, it seemed like a great option for our family. I would be able to keep my teaching license current but would still be home during the day. I also enjoyed being able to share my love of cheer with others. It was quite an adjustment at first. I was coming in at the beginning of the 2nd term so things had already been set by the previous coach. It turned out well and ended up being a great thing. Not only did my team grow a lot as individuals during the transition but so did I.
Another exciting event at the of 2013 is we were able to get the family photo I had always wanted...a photo of our entire family, including the dogs. This photo has since become one of T.J.'s favorite. He loves his dogs! Max and Sadie have always been so good to T.J. and they are an important part of our family.

We had a lot of fun this fall going on several outings. One of our favorites was Petersen Family Farm. They had so many fun fall activities. T.J. had a blast playing in the corn pit, going through the corn maze, and picking out his very own pumpkin. He was so proud of his pumpkin and took a long time picking it out. He decided on a smaller pumpkin that was just his size to carry around. For Halloween, this year, T.J. was a cowboy. Tyson and I joined him in dressing as cowboys and T.J. was such a stud as always in his costume.
This year, T.J. was not a fan of Santa. He was fine until I sat him on the Santa's lap and he lost it! He was not going to have it! We tried to explain to him that Santa brought him presents but that didn't seem to help. Is it bad that I love that we have one of these classic Santa photos of him crying on Santa's lap? This year, since I was coaching cheer again, I was gone on Tuesday and Friday nights for basketball so T.J. got to go on lots of fun Christmas outings with his Grandma. She took him to a live Nativity where he got to pet a real camel. Grandma plans the best Christmas outings!
