October Happenings

October was filled with fun and memories!  At the end of September, T.J. lost his first tooth!  I was surprised at how brave he was to let me pull it out.  He was so excited for the tooth fairy to come.  He lost it the week of school pictures so his 1st grade pictures show his missing tooth.  It is so cute!

My mom and I took the boys to the pumpkin patch at Wheeler Farm.  The boys had so much fun climbing on all the structures, riding the cow train, going through the corn maze, and picking out their own pumpkins.  Fall is such a fun time in Utah.  So many fun things to do!

This year,on October 6, I turned 32 (yikes! When did I get so old?).  My great friends Ashley and Alisha took me out for breakfast and spoiled me with some great gifts.  It was so fun celebrating with them.  I have the greatest friends!
For one of our FHE's this month, T.J. prepared an excellent lesson on comparing having the light of Christ to the light inside a jack-o-lantern.  We then of course decorated/carved pumpkins.  Spencer loved being able to color his own pumpkin.  He is quite the artist!  We have to watch him carefully because he will draw on anything and everything...including my white cabinets!

This year, we let T.J. carve his own pumpkin (with supervision).  He has been dying to carve a pumpkin himself.  He was so careful and did a great job!  He was so excited to put a light in his jack-o-lantern.

The day before Halloween, we surprised T.J. and picked him up from school and headed to the airport.  We were taking him to Disneyland!  He was so surprised!  It was the hardest secret we have ever kept!  This was also Caleb's first flight.  He did great on both the flight there and the flight back!  He didn't even cry!  In fact, he fell asleep and slept the whole way.  We have been fortunate that all three of our boys have been good while flying.
This first night there, we wandered around Downtown Disney and ate Dinner.  We ate at Tortilla Jo's and they have the most AMAZING balloon artist!  T.J. wanted a spider and boy did he deliver!

The next day we headed to Disneyland.  The boys' and us were all different Characters from the Avengers.  They wore their costumes throughout the park and everyone called them the character they were dressed as.  T.J. sure loved being called "Iron Man", it made his day!

In the early evening, we went to Mickey's Halloween Party and did some Trick-or-Treating.  It was so much fun and T.J. loved getting all the candy!  We ended the night with 5 bags of candy!  Way more than we ever knew what to do with!  To make it even better, we barely had to wait for any of the rides!  It was such a fun way to celebrate Halloween!

Spencer was so excited to see Mickey.  He LOVES Mickey Mouse!  He wouldn't take his eyes off of him but as soon as we got close to him he chickened out, lol.

We had a great time at Disneyland!  We are glad that we are able to take our family there so often.  It really is a magical place and we love seeing the magic through our kids eyes.  T.J. was able to go on every ride this year except the Incredicoaster.  His favorite ride was Guardians of the Galaxy, which has also become my favorite ride.  Spencer really enjoyed the Little Mermaid ride and Autopia.  Here are some other fun photos from the month that I loved.
