Sometimes things do not always go how you would like or planned. I heard a quote today, "Happiness is a mood, not a destination." That really stood out to me and something that I have been thinking about. It fits mine and Tyson's life so well right now. We were wanting to buy house, have a place to call our own. We found a great house, at a great deal, and our offer was accepted. When things just weren't working out the way that we had hoped, we have decided to revoke our bid on Monday. A lot has come up that has made us think this was just not the home for us. Both of us are hoping to get job in Salt Lake County in May, so us living in Provo wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. We both have promising prospects in Salt Lake for jobs. I will be student teaching starting in January (I find out where on the 3rd of December!). This means I won't be able to work so it will be nice to not worry about money during that time. Most importantly, it means Tyson and I will actually get to spend time together (besides weekends)! Tyson is still working at 6 am everyday and I get home at 10:30 at night (on a good night) so of course he is asleep.
Although we wanted to buy a home, buying a home is not going to determine our happiness. We have been happily married for almost a year and a half renting and we will be happy renting for another year. Everything will work out when it is suppose to. I actually feel alright about everything because honestly, I can't stand Provo. It would just be nice to own a home of our own and for Max to have a yard. It will be nice to be able to get out of Utah County instead of in a house payment...way to look on the bright side right? ;) haha.
Good bye house! :(
Im glad you guys made that decision! Owning a house sounds so stressful, I can't even imagine. Of course everything does happen for a reason, even if it means Max doesn't get a yard haha.
ReplyDeleteI've got to say I'm happy you're not buying a house down there! But that sucks a little. At some point you'll look back and realize it wouldn't have worked out if you didn't do it this way.
ReplyDeleteI love that quote and you are a stud to look on the positive!
