The Verdict is in...

On Friday, I finally found out where I will be student teaching next semester.  I am excited about the verdict.  I will be spending 65 school days at Timpview High school.  First off, I am excited that I was assigned a high school.  It is very rare and difficult to get a student teaching assignment for Health in a High school.  Most student teachers get sent to Jr. High Schools.  Secondly, Timpview High is about a 5-10 minute drive from my house.  It will be so nice to be so close to home.  I'm a little nervous because Timpview is such a large school but I am excited at the same time.  I am in the process of setting up a meeting with my cooperating teacher to observe his teaching techniques prior to me entering the classroom and to set up a game plan for the next semester.  I hope I am fortunate to have a cooperating teacher that will mentor and help me to become the best teacher I can be.  Through my classroom experiences where I have taught lessons here and there, my students has seemed to enjoy my lessons so it will be nice to get an idea of what it will be like to have my own classroom and teach whole units.  Health is such a fun subject and I have some great lessons that I hope will engage my students.  I really want to be a good student teacher and one that the students will enjoy.  I HATED student teachers when I was in school, I really hope that my students don't feel that way about me.  You can count on me documenting my experience with student teaching so get prepared...it will be an experience. 


P.S.  We close on our home next week!  yay!  Moving day is December 31.
