7 months old!

In the blink of an eye Spencer has turned 7 months old.  We are loving every moment with him and can't believe how fast he is growing.

Spencer is a very happy baby and loves his family.  His personality is showing through and it is so fun!  Some developments from this month are:
  • He is sleeping through the night!!!! He will sleep from 9:30pm-6:30am!  This is making mom VERY happy!  A funny thing about when he wakes up in the morning, he will play in his crib and when you walk in his room he pushes up on his arms and pops his head up.  It always makes me smile.
  • He has tried more solids.  He eats oatmeal and likes his pear, zucchini, and corn baby food mix. Grandma gave him some ice cream at T.J.'s Kindergarten Welcome ceremony.  Of course he loved it!  It will be awhile before he gets to try that again.
  • He has also started taking a sippy cup (no bottle but he likes a sippy cup).
  • He reaches for our silverware whenever we are eating and is so strong that many times he succeeds and grabs it and manages to put it in his mouth.
  • Spencer can sit up and move to his stomach with ease.  He loves to play sitting up but when he wants to move to a new toy, he moves to his stomach and army crawls his way to his toy.  Crawling is just around the corner!
  • No teeth yet but he is definitely teething!  He is drooling up a storm and loves to gnaw on things.  His favorite teethers are your fingers and his Sophie giraffe.
  • Spencer loves to be read and sang to.  He loves "Patty Cake"!
  • He loves his dogs and they love him.  He loves to pull on Sadie's jowls and luckily she doesn't mind.  I'm glad both dogs are so good with him.
  • He reaches for people now which is so fun!  I love that he will reach towards me when he wants me to hold him.
  • Spencer loves to go for walks and to pay attention to nature.  He is very aware of his surrounding and looks around and soaks everything in.
  • He still loves the water and likes to go swimming.  He loves splashing water!
Here are some of our favorite photos from this month:
