May Happenings

May has been a busy month of fun!  We started the month by sending my cousin Patrick off on a mission.  He is serving in Peru.  The boys sure love Patrick and we miss seeing him at Fiiz but are so proud of him for serving a mission and love getting his letters each week.  Here is a picture of the boys with Patrick and our family at the farewell.

T.J. had his Spring Dance Recital.  The theme was "Happiest Place on Earth" and he did a dance to Pirates of the Carribean.  T.J. has some serious moves!  He had the best teacher.  Elite Academy has a fantastic boys program and we will miss Ms. Cheryl.

T.J. also had his Preschool Program/Graduation.  I can't believe he will be in Kindergarten!  He is very excited and as his mom I am excited but sad at the same time.  T.J. got accepted into an amazing school that will challenge him and push him academically.  They do all day kindergarten and so I will miss him during the day but I am glad he will be getting a great education!

Over Memorial Day Weekend, we kicked off summer by going camping at Downata Hot Springs in Idaho.  It was the first time we have gone camping as a family but it was a blast!  We stayed in a teepee which made a great experience even cooler!  T.J. thought it was awesome to stay in a teepee.  They have a waterpark with water from the Hot Springs so it made it perfect for swimming.  They had some great waterslides and T.J. was excited he was old enough to go down them.  We couldn't keep him off the slides.  That kid has no fear.

The days at the waterpark were long and Spencer still naps often so I didn't mind holding him while he slept.  It was a great time for me to get a tan.  But Spencer did enjoy the water.  He loves to kick his legs and make big splashes.

Despite our best effort, the boys got sunburned.  We applied sunscreen religiously and frequently and it had an 80 SPF but it was no match for the water at Downata Hot Springs.  Poor Spencer and his fair skin.  We even put a hat on him and the sun still got his sweet face burned.  Luckily, T.J. has my skin and doesn't really burn.  He may get a little pink but it tans overnight.  We had a great time at Downata and look forward to camping there again.

We also went to the Cars 3 tour and got to meet some of the "stars" from the movie.  It was hot but a lot of fun!  We got to see a sneak peak of a part of the movie.  It made us excited to go see the movie!
