The month of December was a busy one! Between trips, Christmas activities, and swim meets I really dropped the ball on some things. Documenting on our blog made the list. We were busy and had fun making memories.
Tyson was a guest coach for T.J.'s swim team. He did a Breast Stroke clinic which is one of the strokes that Tyson really excelled at. He helped many of the kids improve in this stroke. T.J. has really nailed this stroke and freestyle with Tyson's help. Tyson has been giving T.J. private lessons and it has been so fun to watch them bond.
T.J. has really improved in his swimming skills! His coach is really impressed with his strokes. In his heats he is going against 8, 9, and 10 year olds and beating them! She notified me that T.J. is the youngest that she has ever seen to compete in the Breast Stroke from his team. At his meet right after Christmas he took 15 seconds off his breast stroke! He is taking after his dad!
All 3 boys were able to see Santa, not just once, but twice this year! Spencer was still a little hesitant and wouldn't sit on Santa's lap but he would stand next to him as long as T.J. was there. He sure looks up to his big brother. T.J. is such a great example for his brothers. Caleb on the other hand HATED Santa cried on his lap. Hopefully we didn't traumatize him too much. Poor kid doesn't care for strangers. Especially strangers that take him away from his momma. He is by far my biggest momma's boy yet!
My mom took T.J. on the Sunday before Christmas to see the lights at Temple Square. It was snowing that night and too cold for the babies so we stayed home from them. T.J. loves getting his special time with Grandma.
We had a great Christmas with our family. On Christmas Eve, we did the big extended family Christmas Dinner and Program. It was a lot of fun. The boys enjoyed dressing as Shepherd's to find the stars that led them to their presents. This was always one of my favorite traditions growing up. I'm so glad that my boys get to experience it as well.
Christmas Day was such a perfect day! We woke up and let the boys open their gifts from Santa. My mom and my dad came to watch so they could see what Santa brought them. They must've been very good this year because they were spoiled! Spencer has really liked the idea of opening presents and did a great job opening his gifts. T.J. was very excited that the family got a Nintendo Switch from Santa. Spencer's favorite gift was a Food Truck that he can play with and serve food out of. Caleb's favorite gift is a little blue shark that plays the "Baby Shark" song. It is actually a really cute toy. After we opened gifts, we ate breakfast. Around Lunch, Stephen and his family came over and we had a nice lunch and opened our gifts from each other. Our Christmas was low key but we really loved it! It was so nice to just stay home and enjoy our time together. This Christmas will definitely go down in the books as one of our favorites. We really felt the magic of Christmas this year.
