When he was diagnosed, he had a fever of 100.4. His oxygen was low. So low they were ready to transport him to Primary Children's. They decided to suction out his lungs and do a breathing treatment to see if that helped his oxygen levels. They had to suction out his lungs by sticking a tube through his nose into his lungs. It was so sad to watch my sweet baby go through something so terrible. On the positive, his oxygen did rebound. It was still lower but not so low they had to transport him. I was given a prescription for him to get suctioned at Primary Children's and told to return the next day for follow up. I wish I would have gotten a photo but it was so sad, taking a picture was not on my mind at the moment.
During the day he was diagnosed, we were suctioning him out like crazy! We couldn't get it all and headed to Primary's. There were so many kids there battling RSV, including a 3 week old baby! We made several trips to Primary's over the next 4 days.
When we returned to his Pediatrician's the day after his diagnosis, they also found out Spencer had an ear infection and he was put on an antibiotic. I think the antibiotic assisted in his recovery although they say anitbiotics don't help.
Spencer is on the mend and is pretty much back to his normal self minus a terrible cough. It was a great day a couple day ago when Spencer started eating again and we were able to see that sweet smile again. We were very scared for Spencer and are so glad that he recovered. We love you Spencer and are so glad you are feeling better.
