Spencer's 2nd Month of Life

Month 2 was just as eventful as month 1.  Spencer learned to smile a few days before Christmas.  It has been so fun watching him grow.  It took a couple tries to get photos of his smile but persistence paid off and I got a couple good shots.

Spencer had his first Christmas and New Year's. His first Christmas was shortly after his 1 month birthday.  Spencer and I were awake around 7 am and both boys must have been good because Santa had came!  T.J. continued to sleep until 8:30 so Spencer and I patiently waited and snuggled until it was time to open presents.  Spencer got a lot of great Christmas presents.  He got a "Llama, Llama" book, diapers, clothes, and some fun baby toys.  He didn't seem to care much this year but I know he will in the future.   Here is a photo of the boy's in their Christmas Church clothes, they are such studs!

Every year, Tyson and I got to our friends' Josh and Macy's house for a New Year's Celebration.  Spencer was still so little and won't take a bottle to save our lives so we took him with us and he got to sleep through the New Year at the Wilcken's.  We took a selfie at midnight with our sweet baby, we wish T.J. was in the photo but he got to spend the night with Grandma.  Spencer will get to celebrate with them next year.
On January 8, 2017 Spencer was blessed by his dad at Church.  He wore the same blessing outfit as T.J. that Grandma Beaman made them from her wedding dress.  She made Spencer his own shoes with his initials and birthdate on them.  He looked so grown up in his blessing outfit I broke out my fancy camera to play photographer.

At Spencer's 2 month appointment, he weighed 11 lbs. 3 oz and was 22.7 inches long.  He hasn't grown much since being born but he is healthy as can be and we just love him!  He had to get shots at this appointment and it broke my heart to hear his cry because he is such a good baby and doesn't cry much.  I was glad to get his shots though because in a few short days he would be going on his first trip and we didn't want him to get sick.

During this time, Spencer started cooing and smiling up a storm.  He smiles at everyone and everyone loves his cute dimples and red hair.  It has been so fun watching his personality emerge.  He has been experimenting with his body and learning how it moves.  Since birth Spencer has recognized me and T.J.  He would watch my every move but this month he started to recognize Tyson and boy does he love his daddy.
